Occurrence reporting and safety management for a flight school
Under Regulation (EU) 376/2014, retained in UK law, safety occurrences must be reported to the CAA, and a training organisation runs a management system that identifies hazards and acts on them. Safety management in FlyerOS, confidential occurrence reporting, a hazard and risk register, and corrective actions tracked to closure, is on the roadmap and not built yet, so today you would still run your SMS in your existing tools. This page sets out what the regulation asks and how FlyerOS safety management is being designed, so you can tell us what your operation needs.
What Reg (EU) 376/2014 asks of the school
- Reportable occurrences are reported to the CAA within the required timescale.
- A confidential, just-culture reporting channel is available to staff and students.
- Hazards are logged, risk-assessed and tracked through corrective action to closure.
- Safety data is held with appropriate confidentiality and access control.

- Can I run my SMS in FlyerOS today?
- Not yet. Safety management, occurrence reporting, the hazard register and corrective actions, is on the roadmap and not built. Until it ships, keep running your SMS in your current tools. Tell us how you run it and it shapes what we build.
- Will FlyerOS submit occurrence reports to the CAA for us?
- No. The plan is to capture and structure the report and export it in an ECCAIRS-ready form; submission to the CAA would remain the organisation’s responsibility.
- Where can I see what is live today?
- The compliance hub marks every area live, preview or planned. Training records, airworthiness and flight-time limits are live now; safety management is planned.
