When you revise a syllabus, the important question is not that it changed but exactly what changed. Comparing versions lays two versions side by side and shows you the difference, so you can decide who moves to the new one with your eyes open.
What it shows
Pick two versions of a course and FlyerOS shows what is different between them: the exercises added, the ones removed, and the ones that moved. You see the change as a change, not as two long lists you have to read against each other line by line.
Why it matters before you move students
A student part way through a course is on the version they enrolled on, for good reason: their records refer to its exercises. Before you move anyone to a new version, comparing tells you what that move would do to them. If an exercise they have already passed was removed, or one was added that they now need, you want to know that first, not after.
Deciding version by version
The comparison is per pair, so you can check a new version against the one before it, or against an older one a group of students is still on. That lets you make the right call for each cohort rather than moving everyone at once and hoping.
Keeping records honest
Because a student's record points at a specific version, and comparing shows exactly how versions differ, the history stays truthful. You can always explain why a given student was assessed against the exercises they were assessed against.
