The aircraft has to be free, the instructor current for the exercise, and the student eligible for the lesson. Each check is run as the booking is made, not remembered by whoever is on the desk.
Confirms only when it holds.
A booking that fails a check cannot confirm. It says why, and what would clear it. A booking that passes is on the board and everyone can see it, with nothing left to chase.
Changes ripple, they don’t surprise.
Move an aircraft, swap an instructor or lose a slot to weather and the bookings that depend on it are re-checked, so a change made in the morning cannot quietly break the afternoon.

The cost
The double-booking is discovered at the aircraft.
Most scheduling tools take the booking and trust you to know it was safe, that the instructor was current, that the student was up to the exercise, that the aircraft was not already promised. The clash surfaces on the day, at the desk, in front of the student. FlyerOS runs the check when the booking is made, so the problem never reaches the morning.
