Grouping students into a cohort
How to create a cohort, add students to it, and what a cohort makes easier.
Last reviewed
Create a cohort to group students who train together, an intake, a course group, a sponsored batch. A cohort is a lens over students who belong together, so you can see and act on them as a group without changing anything about their individual records.
Creating a cohort and adding students
- Create the cohort and give it a name that means something to your school, usually an intake date or a course.
- Set a student's cohort on their enrolment, so they are part of the group for that course.
A student's progress is still their own, measured against their enrolment. The cohort just lets you view and manage them together.
What a cohort makes easier
- Seeing how a group is progressing side by side, and who is falling behind.
- Planning flying for a whole intake at once.
- Reporting on a sponsored or airline-linked group as a unit.
Because a cohort is a grouping and not a separate record, moving a student between cohorts, or removing one, never touches their training history.
