Your first week with FlyerOS

Set FlyerOS up in this order, because each step depends on the one before it. You do not have to finish it all at once, the dashboard shows you what is left.

The order

1. Add your locations. Your bases, so the rest of the system knows where things live.
2. Add your aircraft. Each one's registration, type and current hours. This is what the schedule books against.
3. Set your roles. Decide what each kind of person can see and do. See Understanding roles and permissions.
4. Add your people. Instructors, office staff and students. Adding someone and inviting them to log in are two separate steps.
5. Set up a course. If you train, add a course and publish a syllabus version. See How courses, versions and enrolments fit together.
6. Make your first booking. Once an aircraft and a person exist, you can book a flight.

You do not have to do it alone

Every list you have not filled in yet explains what it is for and links to the article that walks you through it. The setup checklist on the dashboard tracks your progress from your real data, if an aircraft exists, that step is ticked. Nothing is a stored flag you have to remember to update.
