Built-in data connections

The outside data FlyerOS brings in with no setup: weather, the national aircraft register and calendar feeds, all behind one provider-neutral layer.

Last reviewed

Alongside the accounting connection you set up yourself, FlyerOS brings in several data feeds that need no configuration at all. They are on from day one.

What is connected out of the box

  • Weather. METAR, TAF and forecast data feed the board and the pre-dispatch gate, so a marginal day is visible where the flying is planned rather than in a separate tab. See weather and scrubbed flights.
  • The national aircraft register. When you add an aircraft, its registration details are read from the register, so a tail number and type are not typed in from a photograph. See what counts as an aircraft.
  • Calendar feeds. Your people can subscribe to their bookings in the calendar they already use, so a change in the schedule shows up in their own diary.

Provider-neutral by design

Every outside connection, the ones above and the accounting sync, runs through one adapter layer. That means a provider can be changed without re-plumbing your operation, and no single supplier is wired into how your school runs. If you would rather not connect a system at all, an export is always available instead.

To connect your accounting package, see connecting your accounting system.
